Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and knowledge-transfer materials based on functional requirements.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Design and implement improvements to application quality, scalability, and reliability.
- Maintain existing codebases and conduct peer reviews of code changes.
- Lead or participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Investigate and adopt relevant new technologies.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Provide technical direction, mentor less experienced developers, and lead work within projects.
- Drive cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives and translate AI innovation into business impact.
- Collaborate with product management, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Java full-stack development.
- At least 10 years of experience developing software for large business environments and mission-critical, low-latency solutions.
- Minimum 12 years of experience with Java Enterprise Edition.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Experience with database systems and data architecture, including SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, or Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, interpersonal, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, operate across strategic and detailed technical levels, and balance short- and long-term product goals.
