Base Salary
$180k - $290k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery for strategic customer accounts, including requirements scoping, delivery sequencing, pre-shipment QA, and blocker resolution.
- Act as the first technical responder for assigned accounts, triaging questions, managing timelines and expectations, and escalating complex issues when needed.
- Represent XDOF’s technical capabilities to sophisticated customers while protecting proprietary methodology.
- Translate recurring customer needs and delivery challenges into roadmap input for the data engine, pipelines, annotation systems, and reusable playbooks.
- As the role matures, lead platform-integration engagements and model fine-tuning and evaluation services for enterprise customers.
Requirements
- Require 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally including customer-facing or forward-deployed work.
- Strong production coding skills are required, with Python preferred, along with experience shipping and operating data pipelines or infrastructure.
- Seek a founding-engineer profile with experience owning multiple areas, solving difficult problems without an established playbook, and engaging directly with customers.
- Need high agency and comfort with ambiguity, plus the ability to drive customer outcomes without waiting for a detailed specification.
- Require excellent communication and the ability to conduct discovery, respectfully challenge unrealistic requests, and explain technical tradeoffs to engineers and executives.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in robotics, embodied AI, autonomy, or ML data infrastructure.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with robot-learning data such as teleoperation, egocentric data, and VLA or robot foundation models, plus formats such as MCAP and HDF5.
- Forward-deployed or solutions experience at an enterprise or frontier-AI company is a preferred qualification.
