Responsibilities
- Build, test, operate, and evolve backend services for context ingestion, indexing, retrieval, API access, source configuration, and system administration.
- Design a scalable multi-tenant SaaS architecture including tenant isolation, usage tracking, quotas, audit logs, background jobs, and service boundaries.
- Create APIs and service interfaces that let AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications retrieve context, provenance, confidence signals, and warnings.
- Make architectural and product tradeoffs as the project evolves from prototype and internal dogfooding to production-grade SaaS.
- Instrument and operate services using metrics, logs, traces, alerts, dashboards, and observability tooling.
- Contribute to architecture, storage choices, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices for the new product area.
- Communicate effectively and take ownership of scalable, maintainable AI solutions aligned with user workflows.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building production-grade, user-facing software systems.
- Strong engineering skills and the ability to solve complex problems, make pragmatic decisions, and work with limited supervision.
- Practical experience with AI technologies, LLMs, prompt engineering, and applications powered by generative AI.
- A track record of delivering production software that is actively used by users.
- Experience working in cloud-native environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
- Ability to iterate quickly, operate in ambiguity, define scope, take initiative, and collaborate effectively.
- Experience with agent frameworks or multi-agent workflows is a bonus.
- Experience as a data analyst or with data platforms such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake, or DataBricks is a bonus.
- Experience building tools for data engineering is a bonus.
