Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and delivers secure, scalable software solutions across multiple technical areas.
  • Writes high-quality production code, reviews and debugs code written by others, and promotes secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and reusable engineering patterns.
  • Leads adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and validation standards to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
  • Identifies and automates remediation of recurring issues to improve application and system stability.
  • Leads technical evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams regarding architecture and technology applicability.
  • Leads software engineering communities of practice focused on awareness and adoption of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and React.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of application resiliency and security practices.
  • Experience with software applications and technical processes in disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.
  • Preferred: experience building containerized applications with Kubernetes and EKS using Java, Spring Framework, ORM, and caching.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Apache Spark, and Kafka, plus familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
