Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure backend services for the Cards product.
- Contribute to backend architecture and the platform’s long-term technical vision.
- Own end-to-end delivery of features and improvements from design through production.
- Write high-quality, testable, reliable, and maintainable code.
- Promote engineering best practices, observability, and API design.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and design teams.
- Provide technical mentorship and support the growth of other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience designing and building backend systems and production APIs.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python.
- Understanding of REST API design and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP and container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
- Strong focus on performance, reliability, and code quality.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk is preferred.
