Responsibilities
- Conceive logical software architectures and clearly communicate technical ideas.
- Build new software products in QED’s Special Projects Division.
- Apply efficient algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns.
- Participate in regular code reviews and collaborative software development.
- Use disciplined version control while developing primarily on UNIX-based or OSX-Darwin platforms.
- Support technology applications in public health, agriculture, and education.
- Be willing to travel to Africa to understand the context of the problems being addressed.
Requirements
- Possess or be pursuing a degree in computer science or software engineering, or have comparable professional experience.
- Demonstrate fluency in spoken and written English, or use AI assistance for writing.
- Show critical thinking, expressiveness, teamwork, and care for the work produced.
- Understand the basics of efficient algorithms and data structures.
- Be willing to participate in code reviews, use disciplined version control, and work in teams.
