Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and support WebCenter Enterprise using Java/J2EE and modern web technologies.
- Own complex features and technical initiatives from requirements clarification and design through implementation, automated testing, release, and follow-up.
- Translate business and customer requirements into scalable, maintainable, high-quality technical solutions.
- Participate in technical design and architecture decisions and manage cross-team dependencies affecting delivery and quality.
- Diagnose complex defects using logs, debugging, and profiling, and improve existing code through testing and incremental refactoring.
- Contribute to AI-powered application capabilities, AI agents, intelligent workflows, and AI-assisted product experiences as required by the roadmap.
- Review and validate AI-assisted development outputs for correctness, security, maintainability, and data protection.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Promote engineering best practices, maintainability, continuous learning, and software quality across the R&D organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with expertise in Java.
- Substantial hands-on experience developing and maintaining complex Java/J2EE enterprise web applications in production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience translating business and customer requirements into scalable technical solutions across the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with modern web frameworks, RESTful API design, testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Java fundamentals, object-oriented design, concurrency, exception handling, HTTP, application-server behavior, and client/server interactions.
- Proven ability to diagnose defects and safely improve existing code using automated unit and integration tests, regression protection, and incremental refactoring.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide engineers and communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience designing AI-powered application capabilities, building AI agents or copilots, using retrieval-augmented generation and workflow orchestration, and integrating AI services and large language models into enterprise applications.
- Preferred experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, browser-side debugging, AI-assisted development tools, and incremental modernization of established enterprise applications.
- Experience working in Agile development environments is preferred.
