Responsibilities
- Lead global software development efforts and serve as technical lead for the software engineering team.
- Guide day-to-day operations, development priorities, sprint goals, Jira tracking, and coordination with project managers and technical leads.
- Establish and enforce software engineering practices covering code reviews, testing, documentation, and development workflows.
- Lead development of the React/Next.js frontend application.
- Own the Python FastAPI backend and its integration with hardware control and middleware layers.
- Contribute to Rust-based middleware or driver software and collaborate with embedded systems engineers on hardware interaction.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions and support transition from prototype to production-ready systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong experience with React and Next.js, plus experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.
- Familiarity with embedded software concepts including device drivers, low-level APIs, and hardware communication protocols.
- Demonstrated experience leading software development teams or serving as a technical lead.
- Strong understanding of Git, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Preferred qualifications include Rust experience, exposure to scientific instrumentation or hardware control, familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes, and experience in startup or R&D environments.
