Base Salary
$150k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end perception pipelines deployed to operational autonomous systems.
- Design, train, and optimize perception models for maritime environments, including object detection, classification, and tracking.
- Work with large vision models such as ViT, CLIP, and SAM.
- Fuse camera, radar, and lidar data into unified perception outputs.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to select and integrate sensors and develop low-level sensor drivers.
- Deploy models with NVIDIA Triton Inference Server and optimize edge inference for latency and throughput.
- Apply quantization, pruning, and other optimization techniques.
- Integrate perception outputs into autonomy stacks with mission software and platform teams.
- Define metrics and evaluation frameworks for deployed system health and investigate perception failures.
- Partner with operators and customers to translate field challenges into engineering solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience developing and deploying computer vision or perception systems in C++ and/or Python on Linux.
- Experience with modern deep learning frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Hands-on experience with large vision models such as ViT, CLIP, and SAM.
- Experience implementing sensor fusion across heterogeneous sensor modalities.
- Proficiency with NVIDIA Triton Inference Server, TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, or equivalent inference tooling.
- Ability to quickly navigate and understand complex codebases.
- Strong systems-thinking mindset.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance.
- Preferred experience deploying perception systems on embedded platforms such as Jetson or FPGA.
- Preferred familiarity with maritime or aerial sensor environments and edge-inference optimization.
- Preferred knowledge of autonomy frameworks such as ROS2 and MOOS-IvP.
- Preferred experience with safety-critical or real-time systems and military systems or defense acquisition processes.
