Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, test, and refactor C++ flight software in an embedded Linux environment.
- Maintain the embedded Linux code baseline, DevOps pipeline, configuration management, and documentation.
- Update integration, test, simulation, and Python scripts for new optical communications terminal vendors and Formal Qualification Testing.
- Integrate the adaptor with the larger space-vehicle software baseline and hardware components.
- Execute Formal Qualification Testing against updated software requirements.
- Debug issues, optimize performance and memory usage, and provide timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with FSW leadership, vendors, systems engineers, and other program engineers.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams and participate in code reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience, or at least 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 4 years of embedded software development experience using C/C++ with object-oriented design and implementation.
- Experience with embedded Linux, modern software development APIs, network communications, and potentially containerization.
- Experience with compilers, debuggers, and version control systems such as Git.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Preferred: knowledge of Agile development methodologies, Python scripting for testing and automation, and continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
