Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable backend services using Java and serverless technologies.
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven systems for distributed applications.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct system design reviews, and ensure architectural alignment and best practices.
- Contribute to user-facing frontend components when needed.
- Optimize services for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with Architects, Product Managers, engineering leads, and distributed cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and guide junior developers and promote technical growth.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, deployment, and testing.
- Maintain code quality through peer reviews, testing, and clean-code practices.
- Document shared components with usage guidelines and examples.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of backend development experience with deep proficiency in Java.
- Extensive hands-on experience with serverless frameworks and cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SNS/SQS, and EventBridge.
- Expertise in distributed systems, scalability, and advanced data modeling.
- Solid frontend knowledge, including React and Web Components, with Angular experience as a preferred qualification.
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code.
- Understanding of design patterns, test-driven development, behavior-driven development, and clean-code principles.
- Proven experience as a Tech Lead mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
- Experience conducting system design reviews and optimizing systems for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, or Datadog is preferred.
- Experience with NoSQL databases and understanding of AI/ML are preferred.
