Responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and execute software development life cycle tasks.
- Iterate on software requirements with business stakeholders.
- Develop clean and efficient tools and applications using Java.
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.
- Analyze and debug systems.
- Perform validation and verification testing using a test-driven approach.
- Review others’ work and participate in peer code reviews.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products.
- Keep software up to date with the latest technologies.
Requirements
- Experience writing clean, scalable Java code.
- Experience with Spring Boot.
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
- Experience writing RESTful API endpoints.
- Working knowledge of test-driven development.
- Proficiency with Git.
- Experience with system and performance monitoring tools such as New Relic and Datadog.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, and RestAssured.
- Strong organization, critical-thinking, personal leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Proven experience as an engineer.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree.
- Generative AI code assistant experience, including GitHub Copilot, is an asset.
- UI development, React, Angular, Selenium automation, cloud services, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Ansible, Jenkins, Linux, IP networking, AWS, Azure, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SaaS products, service-oriented architecture, Python, Bash, Groovy, production on-call work, and professional mentoring experience are preferred.
