Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and operate scalable Azure-based data, analytics, automation, and tooling solutions end to end.
- Build and maintain Azure infrastructure covering compute, networking, storage, identity, certificates, and service dependencies.
- Create infrastructure as code with ARM, Bicep, or Terraform and maintain YAML-based Azure DevOps pipelines with testing, security scanning, and rollback capabilities.
- Drive reliability through testing, observability, diagnostics, monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and Kusto queries.
- Support production operations through on-call coverage, incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of service issues.
- Optimize Azure costs through rightsizing, scheduling, and automated detection of idle or oversized resources.
- Integrate Azure OpenAI and Copilot tooling into engineering and operations workflows.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to evolve Microsoft’s data platforms and deliver business solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience shipping and supporting production systems.
- Experience with Azure fundamentals across compute, storage, identity, and networking.
- Programming experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Bash, KQL, T-SQL, YAML, or JSON.
- Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure as code, Azure DevOps and CI/CD engineering, observability, telemetry, SRE practices, on-call support, and incident response.
- Experience with Azure services including App Service, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure SQL, Storage/Data Lake Gen2, Key Vault, Entra ID, managed identities, and role-based access control.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including virtual networks, subnets, private endpoints, network security groups, and DNS.
- Business fluency in English across reading, writing, and speaking.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or additional engineering experience, an Azure certification, container and orchestration experience, cloud cost optimization or FinOps experience, familiarity with Azure OpenAI or Azure Machine Learning, and Power BI and DAX experience.
