Base Salary
$130k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop APIs, including specifications, endpoints, data models, and REST and GraphQL protocols.
- Contribute production-grade Ruby code for core services.
- Conduct code reviews and collaborate with technical leads and architects on robust, scalable solutions.
- Integrate APIs with internal systems, external applications, and third-party services.
- Create and maintain API documentation, usage guidance, and best practices.
- Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and other secure development practices.
- Coordinate with external engineering teams on technical standards, governance, compliance, and cATO maintenance.
- Monitor and optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Manage API versioning and backward compatibility.
- Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements.
- Participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 on-call operations.
- Lead engineering teams while remaining hands-on with development.
Requirements
- 6+ years of strong Ruby on Rails experience.
- Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with the RSpec testing framework.
- Ability to lead engineering teams while remaining hands-on with development.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Git, OAuth, Sidekiq, and Spring Boot/Java is desirable.
- Public Trust eligibility is required.
