Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data infrastructure processing petabytes of data across millions of users.
- Write clean, well-tested code for data ingestion, transformation, and serving systems.
- Own projects end-to-end from design through deployment and production support, with guidance from senior engineers.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to deliver solutions that power Discord’s insights.
Requirements
- Have 3+ years of software engineering experience.
- Demonstrate strong programming skills in Python, Java, Rust, Go, or a similar language.
- Have solid computer science fundamentals and the ability to learn new technologies and ramp up on unfamiliar systems.
- Demonstrate debugging ability, continuous improvement, and a growth mindset.
- Collaborate effectively and clearly explain technical concepts to different audiences.
- Experience with data pipelines, ETL, modeling, or warehousing is a bonus.
- Cloud infrastructure knowledge or experience with containerization is a bonus.
- Passion for Discord and gaming is a bonus.
Benefits
- US base salary range of $160,000 to $200,000, excluding equity and benefits.
- Equity and benefits are included in the full-time compensation package.
- Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area; relocation assistance may be available.
