Base Salary
$124k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data infrastructure in AWS using Spark and Scala.
- Evolve core data pipelines for efficiency and large-scale growth.
- Select and optimize data engines and storage formats based on performance and cost needs.
- Design and implement knowledge graphs exposed through batch processing and APIs.
- Deliver APIs backed by relationship-heavy datasets.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Product, and other cross-functional teams on data solutions.
- Implement automated data quality checks and optimize data assets and APIs.
- Contribute to the strategic vision for data engineering within the organization.
Requirements
- Production data engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Spark and Scala, preferably with proven experience building Spark-based data infrastructure.
- Experience delivering significant technical initiatives and reliable, large-scale services.
- Experience delivering APIs backed by relationship-heavy datasets.
- Familiarity with data lakes, cloud warehouses, and storage formats.
- Strong proficiency in AWS services and expertise in SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use AI to improve workflow speed and quality while critically evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work.
- Experience with adtech, data governance, privacy-by-design, sensitive or regulated data, Apache Iceberg or Delta, building a Data Engineering function, or machine learning pipelines is preferred.
