Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Define and champion the global end-to-end architecture for RGA’s Databricks data science and AI platform.
  • Design Unity Catalog hierarchies, fine-grained access controls, dynamic masking, lineage, classification, least-privilege access, and data governance.
  • Architect low-duplication, bidirectional integration between Databricks and Snowflake using Apache Iceberg and Unity Catalog federation.
  • Build self-service frameworks, templates, notebook and IDE experiences, and documentation for actuarial, analytics, and data science teams.
  • Mature ModelOps covering model lifecycle management, governance, versioning, deployment, MLflow, Model Serving, and AI agent operations.
  • Optimize compute, clusters, jobs, observability, tagging, chargeback/showback, and self-service cost analytics.
  • Lead discovery workshops, proofs of concept, technology evaluations, communities of practice, and Databricks enablement initiatives.
  • Mentor team members and help build high-performing cross-functional data and AI teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise-level IT functions.
  • 7+ years of experience managing large enterprise data initiatives and teams.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting and operating enterprise-grade data and AI/ML platforms, with hands-on Databricks and Apache Spark experience on a major cloud.
  • Deep knowledge of Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake/Iceberg, Lakeflow/Delta Live Tables, MLflow, Model Serving, AI Agent Framework/Agent Bricks, Lakebase, Genie, lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT, Terraform, and Databricks Asset Bundles.
  • Demonstrated success building self-service platform capabilities and developer experiences for data science teams, including ModelOps lifecycle management, versioning, governance, and deployment automation.
  • Strong consulting, stakeholder management, communication, architecture vision, roadmap, innovation, and technology-transformation skills.
  • Preferred experience integrating Databricks with Snowflake and other engines through Apache Iceberg and Unity Catalog/Lakehouse federation.
  • Preferred willingness to participate in cross-time-zone meetings and maintain continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
