Responsibilities
- Drive verification, test-fixture design, and test automation for software involving websites, real-time services, redundant servers, cloud systems, and connected electrical devices.
- Design and build physical and software-based test systems, including mock energy-management systems spanning embedded sensors, real-time software, and connected cloud systems.
- Develop test strategies and design, implement, execute, and improve product and system tests.
- Use test automation tools and physical setups to maximize software testability.
- Report product defects quickly and accurately and contribute to product-quality and planning decisions.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, application engineers, and stakeholders throughout planning, execution, and reporting.
- Support continuous improvement and contribute flexibly to agile team goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or an MCA.
- 4–6 years of experience in manual testing of complex software products, preferably in enterprise energy-management, SCADA, or network-management systems.
- 3–4 years of experience designing and developing test-automation suites for complex enterprise software products.
- Knowledge of test and test-automation processes, test levels, test types, and test techniques.
- Proven experience working with developers, product owners, and application engineers in an agile framework.
- Ability to analyze complex testing problems and explain and justify testing, test equipment, and automation activities to stakeholders.
- Expertise in Python, VBScript, .NET, Test Complete, and C#.
- Knowledge of energy-management distribution products such as energy meters, power meters, and breakers is desirable.
- Knowledge of Modbus, ION, Modbus TCP, BACnet, and similar industrial-automation and electrical-distribution protocols is desirable.
- Strong communication, negotiation, teamwork, attention to detail, and critical-thinking skills.
