Responsibilities

Design, implement, and deploy software across Linux distributions and Microsoft server installations.
Develop features for large-scale distributed systems, potentially involving file systems and databases.
Improve system reliability through fault-tolerant mechanisms, performance optimization, and data consistency.
Build and maintain Jenkins integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
Troubleshoot complex issues, debug C/C++ and Java code, and implement fixes.
Collaborate with globally distributed engineers to design robust solutions.
Engage with users and the open-source community, including browser-based compatibility concerns.
Understand enterprise requirements and respond to customer issues.
Incorporate security into software design and implementation and use software scan reporting.

Strong understanding of Linux and its distributions.
Proficiency in C/C++ or Java for distributed-systems and Linux development.
Ability to work in command-line environments and script or debug with Shell or PowerShell.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred.
Open-source contribution experience preferred.
Experience with build systems, toolchains, and cross-compilation for Linux and Microsoft preferred.
Familiarity with ARM and other architectures beyond x86 preferred.
Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI preferred.
Experience with distributed-systems technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ preferred.
Familiarity with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and OpenShift preferred.
Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies preferred.
Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle and non-relational NoSQL databases preferred.
