Base Salary
$162k - $203k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and mature database foundations for Scale using industry-standard platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including software developers and machine learning scientists.
- Own services or systems and define their long-term health goals.
- Mentor other engineers and engage in architectural design and database best practices.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Create backend database solutions to meet data and security needs.
- Work with the Security Team on compliance and security improvements.
- Build systems capable of handling millions of data frames daily.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience as a database engineer post-graduation.
- Experience with real-time and distributed system architecture.
- Proficient in designing and self-hosting databases on public cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with multiple database platforms such as MongoDB, Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redis.
- Expertise in SQL query optimization, database indexing, scalability, and replication.
- Experience in developing and optimizing backup and restore functionality.
- Intermediate experience in at least one coding language: Typescript, Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infra-as-Code tools like Terraform.
