Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop distributed data-path or control-path software for a converged computing and storage platform.
- Optimize software for high performance and scale across private, public, multi-cloud, and hybrid-cloud environments.
- Develop performance, scaling, resiliency, high-availability, and self-healing features for the Nutanix Files product.
- Develop creative solutions for complex distributed-systems and customer requirements.
- Provide technical leadership to a group of engineering team members.
- Collaborate with development, test, documentation, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience developing distributed software.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of C, C++, Python, or Golang.
- Understanding of UNIX/Linux.
- Experience with file systems, operating systems, distributed systems management, or cloud technologies.
- Experience building manageability software using REST APIs; backend experience using modern UI frameworks may substitute for deeper systems skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred familiarity with OS internals, distributed data management, and trade-offs in clustered, high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems software.
- Preferred familiarity with x86 architecture, virtualization, and storage management.
