Responsibilities

  • Drive the internal and external plugin development ecosystem for remote development and UI tooling.
  • Define minimal APIs, draft documentation, and shape the team’s definition of done.
  • Re-architect core subsystems to support flexible and portable settings across machines and remote or provisioned development environments.
  • Organize and implement processes for the IntelliJ Platform API deprecation cycle.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in platform architecture and systems design.
  • Strong understanding of JVM concurrency.
  • Knowledge of Kotlin coroutines.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Critical thinking and architectural foresight.
  • Ability to organize and perform large-scale refactoring in monorepos.
  • Preferred experience building developer tools, working with different UI frameworks, understanding database internals, or developing network applications.
