Base Salary
$225k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of consumer-facing features connecting students and employers.
- Architect and scale distributed systems supporting millions of users with high availability and performance.
- Influence technical direction across multiple teams and align engineering work with business goals.
- Mentor engineers, including senior engineers, and promote technical growth and excellence.
- Champion engineering practices that improve product quality and team efficiency.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering large-scale, complex systems.
- Experience operating at staff-level scope and influencing technical direction across multiple teams.
- Expertise building and scaling distributed systems, preferably for consumer platforms or social products.
- Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or JavaScript for maintainable production systems.
- Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern system design principles.
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and elevating engineering culture.
- Preferred experience with search, recommendations, ranking, personalization, identity knowledge graphs, entity resolution, real-time inference, AI-powered systems, or LLM-based applications.
- Prior experience in high-growth or rapidly scaling environments is preferred.
