Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain moderately complex front-end and back-end code for internal and external client software solutions across multiple platforms.
- Analyze, modify, test, validate, document, and correct application code and escalate alternative solutions when needed.
- Work throughout the software development life cycle, including design, coding, debugging, implementation planning, and application validation.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams and participate in client-facing, joint venture, and vendor partnership meetings.
- Support the design, development, and enforcement of application standards, controls, procedures, monitoring, and PCI security compliance.
- Prepare basic billable-hour and resource estimates for initiatives, projects, and issues.
- Assist with on-the-job training and provide guidance to other software engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Typically at least four years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
- Advanced knowledge of one or more front-end or back-end languages and moderate understanding of the corresponding technology area.
- Experience with two or more modern enterprise programming languages, APIs, external services, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
- Six or more years of professional coding and software development experience is preferred.
- Experience with IBM Rational Tools is preferred.
- Ability to work with diverse problems independently, exercise judgment, and operate with limited day-to-day instruction.
