
Java Tech Lead (Hybrid)

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance applications for the ingestion, mastering, and distribution of Securities Reference Data, particularly Index and ETF data.
- Build and maintain scalable Java- and Python-based services across existing reference-data platforms and modernization initiatives.
- Manage workflows involving instrument hierarchies, identifier mappings, constituent relationships, benchmark relationships, and vendor-driven data changes.
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions in partnership with business analysts, stakeholders, and end users.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of application enhancements, production changes, and strategic development initiatives.
- Ensure data quality, timeliness, lineage, and governance across reference-data platforms.
- Analyze and resolve production issues while assessing downstream impacts on trading, risk, operations, and regulatory processes.
- Collaborate with global development teams to deliver resilient, high-performing services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant IT experience, preferably in financial services.
- Experience developing enterprise-scale applications with Java and/or Python.
- Experience with relational database technologies, including SQL, tables, triggers, stored procedures, and data modeling.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices architectures, and event-driven platforms such as Kafka.
- Experience with MongoDB, Linux environments, JSON, and XML schemas.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle and with geographically distributed teams.
- Understanding of reference data concepts and financial instruments, especially Indexes, ETFs, and related market-data structures.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
- Clear and concise communication skills, complex business-problem analysis, practical technical solution delivery, and strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of Spring Boot, Hibernate, shell scripting, Autosys, Cron, Airflow, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and Prometheus is advantageous.
- Fluency in both French and English is required.
