Responsibilities
- Establish technical designs aligned with Sanofi’s requirements, architecture, and data standards.
- Own the backend application lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, operation, troubleshooting, and support.
- Design, implement, optimize, and operate databases, data ingestion and transformation, data processing, orchestration, APIs, and CI/CD processes.
- Develop and manage Python microservices and robust APIs using FastAPI.
- Optimize Snowflake queries, databases, ETL processes, and data pipelines for performance, functionality, and operational requirements.
- Assess and resolve data pipeline issues to ensure reliable and timely execution.
- Assist with technical solution discovery, CI/CD pipeline management, automated testing, and deployment practices.
- Design application architecture for efficient concurrent-user handling and high-usage performance.
- Conduct peer reviews, promote code management and deployment standards, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in backend development, integration, data pipelining, and infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar quantitative field of study.
- Expertise in database optimization and performance improvement.
- Expertise with Python, PySpark, and Snowpark.
- Experience with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, data warehouses, object-relational databases, and efficient SQL queries.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including Snowflake and AWS.
- Proficiency developing reliable Python APIs with FastAPI.
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with modern testing frameworks; SonarQube and K6 are a plus.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools including Kubernetes, Argo, Red Hat OpenShift, Terraform, CloudWatch, Grafana, JFrog Artifactory, GitHub, and GitHub Actions is a plus.
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong collaboration skills and willingness to support seamless server-side and client-side integration.
