Base Salary
$175k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive operational efficiency for Waymo’s expanding autonomous vehicle fleet.
- Develop advanced robotics solutions for complex depot operations.
- Apply machine learning to charging, interior cleaning, vehicle inspection, routine maintenance, exterior cleaning, and sensor calibration tasks.
- Leverage foundation models, reinforcement learning, and simulation.
- Integrate machine learning models into production systems at scale.
- Work closely with operations teams to translate real-world needs into robust solutions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience training and evaluating large machine learning models.
- At least 3 years of experience with robotics, preferably industrial robotics.
- Expertise in reinforcement learning and applying it to real-world problems.
- A PhD in machine learning, robotics, or a related technical field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience applying machine learning to large-scale industrial problems is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external research partners on large-scale industry problems is preferred.
