Base Salary
$117k - $138k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement well-scoped components of cloud network features and larger engineering projects.
- Write clean, tested, and maintainable code with guidance from senior engineers.
- Contribute to design documentation, code reviews, architecture discussions, testing, and software rollouts.
- Work across the stack from bare metal to user-facing APIs.
- Develop foundational knowledge of distributed network systems through mentorship, pairing, and collaboration.
- Participate in cross-team initiatives such as technical talks, open source exploration, and book clubs.
Requirements
- Some hands-on experience building or operating software systems through internships, school projects, or approximately one year of professional work.
- Familiarity with software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, and basic build processes.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java or Go.
- Basic understanding of Linux fundamentals and computer architecture concepts.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and willingness to learn network systems and distributed computing concepts.
- Coursework, personal projects, or internship experience involving networking or distributed systems is beneficial.
- Exposure to BGP, VXLAN, TCP/IP, Open vSwitch, networking concepts, or open source contributions is beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
