Base Salary
$228k - $290k/yr
Responsibilities
- Leverage load testing and chaos engineering to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Drive software changes to rehome applications onto new infrastructure for improved scalability.
- Implement software configuration changes and performance tuning parameters.
- Build developer tools to enhance engineering efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams to adopt emerging elements of the internal developer platform.
- Establish and adopt SLOs and error budgets for better application health metrics.
- Improve observability and incident response capabilities across the organization.
- Evangelize and document solutions while training the engineering team on cloud-native strategies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on distributed systems.
- Experience as a back-end engineer with a focus on system performance and scalability.
- Proficient in reducing latency using observability and profiling tools.
- Experience with Kubernetes and scaling compute services.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Proficient in backend programming languages such as Python, GoLang, Node, or Rust.
- Experience monitoring distributed systems with tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Passion for engineering enablement and solving scaling challenges.
