Base Salary

$70k - $120k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and own flight software architecture for payloads and spacecraft.
  • Define concepts of operations, mission modes, and state machines.
  • Implement mission logic, data acquisition and handling, storage and downlink, command handling, FDIR, and interfaces to avionics hardware, sensors, and actuators.
  • Adapt and extend vendor-provided onboard computer software while reducing reliance on proprietary stacks.
  • Define software interfaces and abstractions with avionics colleagues and provide recommendations to systems engineering.
  • Load, test, debug, and validate software in the lab and during integration.
  • Create software-related documentation, interfaces, and test procedures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for flight software activities within avionics and missions teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Newly graduated candidates may qualify with experience in flight software, embedded software, or spacecraft software.
  • Experience developing software for space, aerospace, or other safety-critical systems.
  • Experience working in small teams.
  • Experience with structured programming in C, C++, or Python; CMake; Git; testing frameworks; and CI.
  • Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers.
