Base Salary
$232k - $258k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical roadmap and lead delivery of machine learning systems.
- Lead development of autonomy algorithms that extract semantic meaning from complex urban edge cases and enrich the L4 data lake.
- Architect complex onboard systems, including upstream sensor dependency management and evaluation metrics.
- Define requirements for high-quality large evaluation datasets and objective system-performance metrics.
- Mentor senior and lead engineers and promote rigorous experimentation and engineering excellence.
- Influence technical direction across multiple teams and coordinate integration and deployment with other Uber engineering units.
Requirements
- 8+ years of working experience in the robotics or autonomous systems industry.
- Proven experience leading large-scale technical projects from conception to production.
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and Linux environments.
- Preferred: PhD in computer vision, game theory, robotics, or machine learning focused on autonomous driving.
- Preferred: extensive experience with C++, CUDA, and high-performance system optimization.
- Preferred: deep understanding of ROS or similar autonomous middleware.
