Responsibilities
- Drive engineering delivery of high-traffic search and recommendation experiences.
- Develop and maintain large-scale production services, feature pipelines, model integration points, and experimentation workflows.
- Build and operate distributed systems handling high-volume traffic, distributed data stores, billions of daily impressions, and strict low-latency SLAs.
- Collaborate with product, analytics, applied research, and engineering teams to convert requirements into implementation plans and production launches.
- Enable A/B tests, analyze results, and apply findings to improve recommendation features and personalized shopping experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with over five years of relevant Software Engineering experience, or a Master’s degree with over four years of relevant experience.
- Expertise with object-oriented languages such as Java, Scala, or similar production languages in high-scale distributed environments.
- Experience with real-time systems, data pipelines, streaming or batch processing, and distributed data platforms such as Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, or Flink is advantageous.
- Experience with Python, ML pipelines, feature engineering, model integration, model evaluation, or LLM workflows is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, communicate assumptions and tradeoffs, and translate product or research requirements into technical plans and production-ready implementations.
- Experience with search, recommendations, personalization, experimentation, or machine learning systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience with A/B testing, experiment configuration, launch evaluation, and data-guided iteration is a plus.
- Academic publications, patents or intellectual property, or technical blogs are a plus.
