Responsibilities

  • Implement and iterate on ML-powered application features, including AI agent framework capabilities and clause or extraction experiences.
  • Contribute to end-to-end ML feature workflows covering data preparation, model integration, evaluation, and deployment.
  • Integrate ML services into backend APIs and product surfaces with attention to reliability, security, and observability.
  • Build and maintain Python-based services and components running on Kubernetes in Azure.
  • Instrument features with logging, metrics, and basic dashboards to monitor performance and user impact.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code, including unit and integration tests.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and engineering teams to clarify requirements, demonstrate progress, and incorporate feedback.
  • Learn and share techniques involving LLMs, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, vector search, and orchestration libraries.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s degree program with expected graduation between December 2027 and May/June 2028.
  • Coursework in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience using Python for backend or machine learning development and familiarity with another language such as C#, Java, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals including testing, debugging, code reviews, and version control.
  • Experience from coursework, projects, or prior internships building applications or services that consume APIs or data pipelines.
  • Ability to work from Docusign’s Seattle hub in a hybrid setup for the internship duration.
  • Preferred experience includes software engineering, data engineering, or machine learning internships or substantial projects.
  • Preferred academic work includes Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, information extraction, or document understanding.
  • Preferred familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Jupyter, experiment tracking, LLMs, agent concepts, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, RESTful or gRPC APIs, JSON, protobuf, Git, Azure, and Kubernetes.
