Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable backend services using Java and serverless technologies.
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven systems for distributed applications.
- Provide technical leadership and ensure alignment with architectural standards and best practices.
- Contribute to user-facing frontend components when needed.
- Analyze and optimize services for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with Architects, Product Managers, engineering leads, and cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and promote technical growth.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
- Maintain code quality through peer reviews, testing, and software development best practices.
- Document shared components with usage guidelines and examples.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of backend development experience with deep Java proficiency.
- Extensive hands-on experience with serverless frameworks and AWS serverless services.
- Experience designing and managing distributed systems, scalable architectures, and advanced data models.
- Experience with frontend technologies including React and Web Components; Angular experience is preferred.
- Experience with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.
- Strong understanding of design patterns, test-driven development, behavior-driven development, and clean code principles.
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for automated build, deployment, and testing.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience conducting system design reviews focused on architecture, scalability, performance, and best practices.
- Proven Tech Lead experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience troubleshooting and optimizing systems.
- Ability to make strategic technical decisions while balancing deadlines and business goals.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, or Datadog is preferred.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases and experience with agile methodologies is preferred.
- Understanding or experience with AI/ML is preferred.
