Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend and full-stack enterprise features using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and databases.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java applications into modular, cloud-ready and microservices-based architectures.
- Design backend services, data models, API integrations, and high-performance data processing workflows.
- Apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, and layered or hexagonal architecture.
- Perform performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Implement unit, functional, and automated testing while using static code analysis to maintain code quality.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global engineering teams in Agile delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
Requirements
- MCA or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification.
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- Strong experience with software design patterns, object-oriented design, layered architectures, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, unit testing, mocking frameworks, performance profiling, and memory analysis.
- Experience with microservices, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate or JPA, and transaction management.
- Working knowledge of product development lifecycles and Lean Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Preferred exposure to Azure cloud-native development, Azure Service Bus, Azure DevOps, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Maven, or Gradle.
- Experience with shipping or logistics workflows, scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, written communication, learning, and continuous-improvement skills.
