Responsibilities
- Designs and automates API, data, integration, and end-to-end tests across public cloud and on-premises environments.
- Builds and maintains test frameworks, utilities, test data pipelines, automated quality gates, and validation checks.
- Creates test architecture, quality strategies, API contract validation approaches, environment designs, and test data designs for complex applications.
- Uses AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, test creation, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Analyzes test execution, defect, coverage, performance, operational, and production data to improve software quality and reliability.
- Identifies defect, test-result, and data-flow patterns and partners with engineering teams to improve coverage, automation stability, data integrity, and system architecture.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in quality or software engineering concepts and 6+ years of applied Quality Engineering or Software Testing experience.
- Hands-on experience with test strategy and automation for distributed systems, including API testing, data validation, and production support across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining test automation and utilities using modern programming languages and SQL.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating and refining generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, Software Testing Life Cycle, agile delivery practices, CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and automated quality gates.
- Preferred experience testing Java applications with Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful services, API contracts, integration testing, and end-to-end automation.
- Preferred proficiency with JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, REST-assured, Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Preferred experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server and complex SQL for validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
- Preferred experience validating ETL/ELT pipelines, schemas, data quality rules, lineage, and transformations.
- Preferred familiarity with Kafka, MQ, event-driven workflows, downstream data persistence, containerized deployments, ephemeral environments, and service virtualization or mocking.
