Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and extend test frameworks and infrastructure for system-level regression and smoke testing.
- Create automated tests, determine appropriate test coverage, and implement performance test plans.
- Build custom testing applications in Java or Python using WebDriver, Locust, BrowserStack, Appium, Selenium Grid, and Postman.
- Develop robust automation using architectural patterns that isolate coupling to the system under test.
- Develop and execute test automation for mobile use cases and offline functionality.
- Review code changes, assess cross-codebase impact, and promote engineering best practices.
- Break features into story tickets, identify edge cases and technical risks, and troubleshoot defects to a single module or function.
- Distinguish test errors from application errors and contribute to technical documents and artifacts.
- Surface blockers, prioritize work, and complete assignments with minimal prompting.
Requirements
- Proficiency with an IDE, build processes, Git, Jira, and CI.
- Experience building automated tests and custom testing applications with Java or Python and relevant testing tools.
- Ability to develop system-level, performance, mobile, and offline test automation.
- Ability to analyze code changes, isolate defects, assess technical risk, and explain feature intent, impact, value, and operation.
- Working knowledge of at least one Appian subsystem is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly, challenge technical decisions constructively, and maintain a high standard of quality.
