Base Salary

$142k - $197k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for automated verification workflows, financial data integrations, and approval decisioning.
  • Develop distributed systems, service-to-service APIs, and event-driven services for reusable verification capabilities across lending products.
  • Build financial data connection and lifecycle-management platform capabilities that reduce operational overhead.
  • Integrate data, decisioning logic, and machine learning models into production systems with correctness and auditability.
  • Improve reliability through automated testing, monitoring, observability, and operational practices.
  • Contribute to platform architecture, engineering standards, and shared infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years of backend application development experience using Kotlin, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems with service-to-service APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable backend services for business-critical or financial data in production.
  • Experience contributing to decision engines that integrate with machine learning models.
  • Experience writing production-quality code supported by automated testing, monitoring, and observability.
  • Preferred: knowledge of financial services, lending, fraud prevention, identity verification, or other risk-sensitive systems.
  • Preferred: experience integrating third-party financial data providers such as Plaid.
  • Preferred: experience with rule engines, workflow orchestration platforms, automated decisioning systems, or reusable platform services.
  • Preferred: knowledge of integrating, monitoring, and evaluating machine learning models in production.
