Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance GIS platform components, including experience APIs and supporting user interfaces.
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
- Install, maintain, manage, and support the ArcGIS Enterprise platform and its Portal, Server, and Data Store products.
- Configure and support Oracle as an ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase and maintain ArcGIS ST_Geometry functions for spatial data management.
- Create and maintain spatial services using ArcGIS Pro projects and Python, including map, feature, and geoprocessing service publications.
- Develop Python and PowerShell scripts using ArcPy, ArcGIS Pro models, and Jupyter Notebooks to automate business processes, analytics, and data workflows.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines aligned with Enterprise DevOps practices.
- Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, debugging, technical documentation, solution designs, standard operating procedures, best practices, and configuration guides.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
- Hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS technologies and a solid understanding of GIS concepts.
- Strong experience with Oracle relational databases hosting ArcGIS SDE Enterprise Geodatabases, including procedural development and ArcGIS ST_Geometry functions.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills with Java and Spring Boot, plus demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs.
- Experience with AWS cloud environments and infrastructure defined with Terraform.
- Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of Arcade and PowerShell.
- Experience with API gateway technologies such as Apigee or AWS API Gateway.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools including GitHub, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field, or comparable experience.
- Preferred experience includes SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, natural peril risk modeling, Angular, React, FME administration, and Esri Technical Certification or GISP.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively, manage changing priorities, and maintain strong attention to detail.
Benefits
- Hybrid work schedule requiring three days per week in the Hartford, Connecticut office, Tuesday through Thursday.
- Annualized base pay range of $96,800 to $145,200, with potential additional short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and other recognition rewards.
