Responsibilities
- Own Poolside’s multimodality direction and capability adoption.
- Build and ship initial image-input capabilities for frontier coding models.
- Drive the transition from adapter-based approaches to native multimodality.
- Develop custom evaluations and datasets for multimodal software engineering capabilities.
- Run end-to-end experiments spanning hypothesis formation, implementation, training at scale, and analysis.
- Partner with evaluation, architecture, data, and post-training teams to integrate multimodality into Poolside models.
- Build a new multimodality team and provide technical direction.
Requirements
- Experience with end-to-end training of production-grade vision-language models.
- Strong fundamentals in large language model training, transformers, and distributed training at scale.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Pragmatic, high-ownership approach and comfort working in greenfield ambiguity.
