Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software using Java, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Analyze and estimate software enhancements and feature changes.
- Design scalable solutions within a large, multi-language enterprise codebase.
- Participate in architectural discussions and identify future platform evolution paths.
- Develop and enhance integrations across internal and external applications.
- Improve automated testing capabilities through software design.
- Evaluate development, testing, and productivity tools.
- Extend and modernize application capabilities, including mobile and cloud-based solutions.
- Identify technical and environmental requirements for customer deployments.
- Maintain technical documentation, coding standards, and development practices.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability to company products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, coding bootcamp completion, or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with object-oriented programming using Java.
- Experience with Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, and Jetty or similar servlet containers.
- Proficiency with Maven or Gradle build and dependency management.
- Strong working knowledge of Git and modern source control practices.
- Experience using IntelliJ IDEA.
- Experience with SQL databases, SQL query optimization, JDBC, and ORM-based data access patterns.
- Understanding of object-oriented, component-oriented, and service-oriented design principles.
- Experience with GWT and SmartGWT, preferably SmartGWT Enterprise 14.1, including client-side and server-side development.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience with commercial software products, customer feedback, ORM frameworks, Linux server administration, command-line tools, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies is preferred.
