Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
- Develop interactive dashboards, reports, visualizations, semantic models, and analytical solutions.
- Translate business and reporting requirements into scalable, reusable Power BI solutions.
- Use DAX, Power Query, and M to create analytical logic and transform, cleanse, integrate, and prepare data.
- Connect Power BI to SQL Server, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Dataverse, Excel, APIs, and other enterprise data sources.
- Design dimensional data models and star schemas, and develop and optimize SQL queries, views, and data transformations.
- Configure row-level security, access controls, workspaces, reports, semantic models, dashboards, and Power BI applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot data refreshes, gateways, connections, and scheduled refresh processes.
- Monitor and optimize Power BI, semantic model, DAX, and query performance.
- Support deployment across development, test, and production environments, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot report, data model, data quality, refresh, gateway, and data-source connectivity issues.
- Create technical documentation, data definitions, report specifications, and solution documentation.
- Collaborate with analysts, developers, administrators, architects, data teams, and stakeholders.
- Present analytical findings and technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge support to end users and junior staff.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying business intelligence and analytics solutions.
- Hands-on experience developing enterprise reports, dashboards, semantic models, and analytical solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience integrating and transforming data from multiple enterprise data sources.
- Strong proficiency with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and M.
- Experience with semantic models, relationships, hierarchies, measures, calculated columns, dimensional modeling, and star-schema design.
- Strong SQL skills for reporting and analytics, including query optimization.
- Experience with SQL Server, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Dataverse, Excel, APIs, row-level security, Power BI content management, scheduled refreshes, and on-premises data gateways.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize report, semantic model, DAX, and query performance.
- Understanding of data quality, data validation, and reporting governance principles.
- Familiarity with Power BI deployment pipelines and source/version control practices.
- Ability to translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions and communicate complex analytical concepts effectively.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to junior staff and work in a dynamic environment.
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate certification, PL-400 or AB-400.
- ITIL v4 or v5 Foundation certification.
- Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a position of Public Trust.
