Base Salary
$206k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve core banking capabilities for products, accounts, transactions, transfers, journals, balances, interest, workflows, and compliance.
- Define reliable APIs, events, and data contracts for a coherent and auditable banking platform.
- Own services across design, implementation, testing, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in on-call and incident response across distributed services, data infrastructure, and event-driven workflows.
- Establish observability, alerting, operational controls, recovery procedures, capacity planning, and disaster recovery practices.
- Design systems for correctness, auditability, scalability, and resilience at Tier-1 banking scale.
- Improve automated testing, deployment safety, rollback, recovery, and production-engineering practices.
- Mentor and coach engineers while sharing knowledge and promoting engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Deep experience designing and building complex distributed systems at scale using a strongly typed, compiled language; Go is preferred, with comparable experience considered.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming technologies such as Kafka or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of concurrency, consistency, invariants, idempotency, failure modes, and distributed-system trade-offs.
- Substantial experience operating and debugging critical production systems, including application, data, and infrastructure boundaries.
- Practical experience with observability, reliability engineering, capacity planning, deployment safety, disaster recovery, automated testing, GitOps, and modern production engineering.
- Ability to evaluate and clearly communicate architectural trade-offs and work across coding, architecture, operations, and cross-team delivery.
- Ability to use AI effectively while retaining human ownership of design, validation, security, and production outcomes.
