Responsibilities
- Design video analysis, content understanding, feature extraction, and image/video quality assessment algorithms.
- Develop and optimize video processing, encoding, and frame-level rate-control strategies for end-to-end video quality optimization.
- Apply algorithms to VOD and live-streaming monitoring, data analysis, and objective evaluation.
- Create databases and participate in algorithm design, development, and optimization.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and multimedia platform teams to integrate algorithms into production workflows and validate impact through A/B testing.
Requirements
- Currently completing or recently completed a PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.
- Strong programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general-purpose languages, including C/C++ or Python.
- Knowledge of image/video analysis or subjective/objective image/video quality algorithms, including VMAF, PSNR, and SSIM.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning or deep learning and familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Preferred: experience designing, training, or applying deep learning models using CNNs, Transformer architectures, or multimodal large language models.
- Preferred: knowledge of video processing algorithms, video codecs, video codec design, embedded processors, and real-time development in an RTOS environment.
- Preferred: experience with ARM Cortex M0/M3/M4 or RISC-V architectures.
