Base Salary
$118k - $237k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and own enterprise data architecture across operational, analytical, and AI/ML workloads.
- Design and govern data models, data contracts, canonical schemas, and shared data-platform components.
- Evaluate and standardize data lakes, warehouses, streaming systems, and serving layers.
- Own data governance frameworks covering classification, lineage, ownership, quality, access controls, masking, PHI handling, retention, archival, and deletion.
- Partner with legal, security, compliance, engineering, analytics, and AI teams to meet regulatory and business requirements.
- Design data architectures for model training, feature engineering, inference, AI agents, recommendation systems, and LLM use cases.
- Establish data quality, observability, reliability, alerting, lineage, incident-response, and pipeline-testing standards.
- Act as a technical advisor and escalation point, create architecture documentation and onboarding guides, and drive adoption of shared data standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native data platforms including GCP services and Azure Synapse.
- 5+ years of experience with data governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience building and governing enterprise-scale data platforms across multiple product teams is preferred.
- Strong relational and non-relational data modeling expertise, including dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or event-sourced patterns, is preferred.
- Strong command of SQL and at least one pipeline language such as Python, Scala, or Spark is preferred.
- Experience with streaming architectures, governance tooling, data mesh, feature stores, dbt, data-quality frameworks, LLM data pipelines, RAG, embeddings, or vector databases is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; an HS diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience is accepted.
