Responsibilities
- Ship production code into Beacon’s internal platform and own meaningful work from design through deployment.
- Build integrations between portfolio company source systems and the central data platform.
- Prototype and ship LLM-powered internal tools for the operating team.
- Collaborate with the CTO and Staff Engineers on code review, system design, and technical decisions.
- Pair with the operations team to understand problems and build software that is actively used.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related undergraduate or graduate program.
- Comfortable writing production-quality code in at least one of TypeScript, Python, or Go.
- Able to work effectively in an existing codebase and learn new languages quickly.
- Interest in data systems, APIs, and practical LLM-driven applications; prior exposure is a plus but not required.
- Strong written communication skills for design documents, pull request descriptions, and status updates.
- Able to understand operational problems before developing solutions.
- Prior co-op or internship experience shipping production software is a bonus.
- Exposure to dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Postgres at scale, OpenAI, Anthropic, or agentic workflow frameworks is a bonus.
- Side projects or open-source contributions demonstrating independent technical curiosity are a bonus.
