Responsibilities
- Ship production code into Beacon’s internal platform and own meaningful work from design through deployment.
- Build integrations between portco source systems and Beacon’s central data platform.
- Prototype and ship LLM-powered internal tools for the operating team.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, the CTO, and Staff Engineers on code review, system design, and technical decisions.
- Pair with the operations team to understand problems and build software that people use.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related undergraduate or graduate program.
- Comfortable writing production-quality code in at least one of TypeScript, Python, or Go and able to learn new languages quickly.
- Comfortable working in and reading someone else’s codebase.
- Strong written communication skills for design documents, pull request descriptions, and updates.
- Curiosity about data systems, APIs, and the practical mechanics of LLM-driven applications.
- Prior co-op or internship experience shipping production software is a bonus.
- Exposure to dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, or Postgres at scale is a bonus.
- Experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic, or agentic workflow frameworks, is a bonus.
- Side projects or open-source contributions demonstrating independent technical curiosity are a bonus.
