Base Salary
$125k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end creation of customer-facing features serving hundreds of thousands of users.
- Architect and maintain inventory, order management, financial, and fulfillment systems.
- Keep APIs, websites, and mobile apps fast and reliable during traffic spikes.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders on practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Create comprehensive technical specifications and review specifications from other developers.
- Mentor engineers on scalability, design patterns, and edge-case discovery.
- Write code and direct code generation while maintaining high quality standards.
- Verify solutions across development and release, including monitoring after launch.
- Develop event-driven production systems and maintain reliable API contracts.
- Model relational data, evolve schemas safely, optimize SQL and database access, and use services such as Redis, Kafka, and SQS.
- Build and maintain trusted test suites for production release quality gates.
Requirements
- 6+ years of work experience delivering high-quality production code.
- Experience developing event-driven systems, preferably with Node.js.
- Experience using typed languages, preferably TypeScript.
- Experience modeling data in relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience designing and versioning REST APIs with backward-compatible contracts.
- Experience building rigorous test suites and verifying both successful and unsuccessful execution paths.
- Ability to optimize SQL, minimize database trips, manage in-memory load, and work with third-party services.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Experience at a consumer-facing brand is a plus.
- Ability to contribute across areas including frontend components, bug reproduction, and analytics data investigation.
