Base Salary

$201k - $251k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Embed with product teams to improve on-call, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and operational maturity.
  • Run game day exercises to improve incident investigation and remediation preparedness.
  • Implement reliability techniques such as retries, improved error handling and logging, and circuit breaking in Haskell and TypeScript application code.
  • Define and steer SLOs toward meaningful customer outcomes.
  • Champion reliability practices through design-document and code reviews.
  • Identify and close observability gaps affecting debugging, incident response, and business intelligence.
  • Advocate for longer-term reliability improvements led by non-product engineering teams.
  • Participate in product-team or general engineering on-call rotations and improve incident-learning processes.

Requirements

  • Prior Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps experience.
  • Measurable experience influencing an organization toward greater reliability.
  • Significant experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience authoring and operating Temporal workflows.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana or Honeycomb.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry.

Benefits

  • Target US base salary of $200,700—$250,900 USD for employees in any US location.
  • Target Canadian base salary of $189,700—$237,100 CAD for employees in any Canadian location.
  • Total rewards include base salary, equity through stock options or RSUs, and benefits.
  • The role includes participation in product-team or general engineering on-call rotations.
