Responsibilities
- Write, design, develop, test, debug, tune, and optimize Java application components with minimal assistance.
- Build and support Spring-based applications using Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Web, and Spring Data.
- Perform unit, integration, performance, and application security testing, including vulnerability analysis.
- Collaborate with onshore, offshore, matrixed, and cross-functional development teams to implement business solutions.
- Conduct peer code reviews, evaluate development tools and libraries, and improve delivery quality.
- Develop user and support documentation and install and support customer-facing systems.
- Act as a subject-matter expert and advisor or coach to senior stakeholders and junior analysts.
- Analyze system enhancements, resolve application issues, recommend programming solutions, and exercise independent judgment.
- Support applications deployed with Docker and Kubernetes and contribute to deployment pipelines and CI/CD practices.
- Assess risk and maintain compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations protecting the firm, clients, and assets.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience in systems analysis and software application programming.
- Bachelor’s or university degree in a relevant area, or equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of Java, Spring, object-oriented programming, design patterns, threading, collections, exception handling, JDBC, file I/O, and XML and JSON parsing.
- Knowledge of AngularJS, Jest, SQL, and preferably DB2 or Oracle dialects.
- Experience with SOA, microservices, REST, Docker, Kubernetes, and application deployment.
- Experience with CI/CD environments and familiarity with Tekton, Harness, Jenkins, and code-quality tooling.
- Knowledge of application debugging, tuning, optimization, coding standards, modularity, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects and familiarity with consulting or project-management techniques.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and manage changing deadlines.
- Financial-services industry experience is preferred.
