Base Salary

$115k - $172k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, and optimize modem firmware and software for LTE, 5G-Advanced, and early 6G protocol stack layers.
  • Develop and maintain real-time embedded software on the proprietary QuRT RTOS under strict latency and throughput constraints.
  • Collaborate with systems, architecture, and hardware teams on modem bring-up, integration, and performance optimization.
  • Analyze and resolve field issues, interoperability problems, and network-specific behaviors using protocol logs, trace tools, and debuggers.
  • Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automation scripts to ensure software quality.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics/Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of academic or industry experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Foundational understanding of embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and data structures and algorithms.
  • Basic knowledge of wireless communication concepts such as OFDM, MIMO, and channel coding, or digital signal processing fundamentals.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, 2+ years of embedded wireless or telecom software experience, and experience with QuRT, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or Zephyr.
  • Preferred qualifications include 3GPP 5G NR/LTE knowledge, modem protocol stack or state-machine development, scripting or domain-specific language experience, and embedded debugging and profiling experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include familiarity with AI/ML fundamentals, simulation or emulation environments, lab equipment, Git or Perforce, CI/CD pipelines, Agile practices, concurrency, inter-process communication, and memory management.
